SCOUTS BEGIN NEW ADVENTURE

Camping and outdoor brand Vango signs deal to become official supplier of Recommended Kit for the Scout Association

The Scotland-based business has worked with The Scout Association on an approved range of products from its portfolio of brands including Vango, Wayfayrer, Trangia and Fuel 4. The Scout movement is the UK’s largest mixed youth organisation committed to providing life changing adventures for young people aged 6-25.

The range of tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks, footwear, stove systems, fuels and food approved have been selected to match the needs of all age groups from Beavers right up to Scout leaders. This will help Scouts and their families choose performance led, quality kit that’s right for their outdoor activities.
Selected equipment, from the extensive AMG portfolio, will carry the “recommended by Scouts” logo and will feature on all equipment lists supplied by The Scout Association to its members.

Vango has been in existence since 1966, and is the preferred brand of mountain explorers and outdoor enthusiasts the world over.

Derek Scott, AMG’s marketing director, said: “I’m really pleased to announce this partnership between Vango and the Scouts.
The Scout movement has been in existence for over 100 years, and is synonymous with outdoor activities, so it fits very well with Vango’s brand values.
It’s great to be involved with an organisation that encourages young people to get outdoors and enjoy camping. It can be hard to know exactly which kit to invest in when you’re first starting out, which is why this partnership is so beneficial to make sure all Scouts are using the best possible products when enjoying the great outdoors.”

Founded in 1907 by Robert Baden Powell, The Scout Association helps children and young adults to reach their full potential, each year providing activities and camping opportunities to 435,000 children and young adults throughout the UK.

Niamh Neville, Assistant Director of Fundraising and Marketing at The Scout Association, commented: “Vango is one of the most renowned outdoor brands in the UK with an impressive range of high quality products. Scouting is trusted to provide fun, challenge and adventure to over 435,000 young people, both girls and boys, across the UK. It seems natural therefore to partner with an organisation with such a strong reputation for quality and reliability.

We are pleased that from 2014 the Scouts logo will be applied to all approved Vango products.

FUEL4 APPOINTS AMG GROUP AS THEIR NEW UK DISTRIBUTOR

Geco Industries, the of producers of Fuel4, are pleased to announce that with immediate effect, they have appointed AMG Group as their new UK distributor.

Fuel4, a UK manufactured environmentally friendly bioethanol spirit and gel fuel, will partner with the Trangia brand in the AMG portfolio. With product and packaging development due in the near future to support this collaboration, AMG anticipate further partnerships for Fuel4 early in 2014 to support its growth and expansion. In addition Fuel4 offers an ideal alternative to Methylated spirits, which will become increasingly difficult to retail as a result of recent changes in legislation by HMRC.

Commenting on the appointment, Lewis Bowen (MD of Geco Industries) stated that,  “I am delighted to have appointed AMG as our new distributor for the UK & Eire market. They are a well-established company that has an enviable portfolio of Outdoor Brands. Their experience of the UK & Eire markets and ambitions to build their business made the decision an easy one for me. I look forward to having a long and successful relationship with them as we build our business in the UK.”

Speaking on the addition of Fuel4 to their Brand portfolio, Stephen Newlands MD of AMG said,  “We are very pleased to be working with Lewis and his team. Fuel4’s commitment to creating the best outdoor fuel product that combines the terrific features of being smokeless, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and a safer fuel makes it a perfect match for Trangia and our wider portfolio. The gel formulation does not spill, is easy to ignite and allows for instant high heat cooking and it perfectly matches our Trangia stove systems.

We believe this is a strategic alliance, which will take the Fuel4 brand to new heights in the UK.”
