AMG Group, one of the UK’s leading outdoor equipment companies, is delighted to announce Firepot dehydrated meals, now feature on the DofE Expedition Kit list as of 1st January 2020.
This complements the Wayfayrer food recommendation, introduced early 2019, allowing participants a fantastic range of both wet and dry meal options for their expeditions.
Firepot was created three years ago. As adventurists trekking through Greenland, the founders identified a hole in the expedition food market. They wanted healthy, hearty meals that didn’t weigh them down or keep them waiting. Above all, they wanted natural food that tasted as good as the food they ate at home. They couldn’t find it anywhere. Consequently, Firepot was born in a Dorset barn — delicious, nutritious, dehydrated slow-cooked meals inspired by their travels. It’s lightweight and easy to use so it can be enjoyed from the Cornish coast to the hills of the Lake District. All you do is add water.
The Firepot menu is defined by the honesty of its ingredients. You won’t find any artificial additives, flavourings, preservatives, or palm oil. The founders are obsessed by quality suppliers. Their recipes — and their unique dehydration technology — ensures the protein, carbohydrate and fibre levels are high whilst keeping saturated fat and salt to a minimum. (See comparison, right)
AMG Group CEO, Stephen Newlands, commented:
‘Following on from our successful launch of Firepot to AMG’s customers, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award presented the perfect opportunity to extend our recommended kit partnership, support participants across the country when on expedition and offer a percentage of profits back to the DofE Charity.
We are extremely excited to work closely with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award on future projects and further educate the younger generation on the importance of nutrition on their adventures.’
